CAROLINE KARENINE

CAROLINE KARENINE

Her landscapes are poetic compositions blending fragments of porcelain, paper, and thread. Inspired by Impressionism and Asian prints, the artist gradually abandoned the human figure for a sensitive abstraction.

Her work, both meditative and artisanal, is rooted in walking and the observation of nature, elements that she considers essential to creation.

Caroline weaves, pierces, and embroiders paper as if to preserve its memory. She uses local and recycled materials, particularly paper from her native village. In recent years, she has also incorporated bisque ceramics, adding texture and fragility to her works, as well as 3D with immersive installations, transforming the viewer into a traveler within fragmented and soothing landscapes.

His works become markers in a collective map of memory. Interplays of transparency, light, and matter evoke a suspended time, where forgetting becomes a form of memory.
